John Sykes Whitesnake 1987 tone Device: Zoom G1Xon Firmware: 1.21 Name on device: JOHNSYKES Optimized for: Guitar Amp Effects chain: Patch comments: killer tone of John Sykes, based on existing patch but removed VX amp and replaced by Marshall 1959 which is accurate enough I guess. Room reverb replaced by Arena. And I did some small settings mods on the amp, reverb and delay. I use this patch on a Roland Cube30 ( clean channel ), it could sound different on other amps. Patch based on solo of "Looking for love". Probably useful for any solo on WS 1987. Enjoy, any comments welcome. Many thanks, I will try to make a patch for John Sykes "Mesa Boogie Coliseum" tone as well. I think he uses this tone on the song "Crying in the rain" and a few others. Anyway my patch for the Marshall amp works very well with "Is this love" and "Looking for love".
