Most of the presets are crunchy or high gain, but they are good starting points for cleaner sounds. I found a number of settings that would sing and sustain, but still have enough clarity for chunky chords. Also, even the high gain settings are not as noisy as the Audio Assault amps I tried, for example. I felt like all of the presets responded well to playing dynamics and finger vibrato. Very usable stuff. It DID take me some trial and error to figure out the effects and the cab module. I thought I would be able to load cab IRs, and I was looking for compression and delay. I haven't tried loading Magus components into Reaper yet, but I think I could add these other effects. I see now that you were going for flexibility and simplicity at the same time. I think it works. Anyway, it's an interesting and usable product!
