Hey! Can someone make a patch that makes my electric bass sound like an upright?

I've got one that i use. I'll try to grab the patch file later and get it up here. Might require some tweaking for your particular instrument.

Here we go. keep in mind that I'm playing on labella flats. Also, I play up over the finger board. Keep the gain on the darkglass low to prevent distortion. It's only there to add a woody sound to your tone. Otherwise, feel free to experiment. I like the warm, thumpy sound that SWR amps have so it seemed fitting for this patch.

Hi bassmannate - for some reason I can't read your Upright patch (no problem reading the other patches in this B1/B1X Four library). And I don't understand why most patches posted here include a "spoiler" button which reveals all the settings for each patch - but not this one. Could you manually (or screen-shot) post the settings? I'm a newbie at this, would like to have something to get started with approximating Upright sounds on my rig. Thanks.

Hi Gil, on Device effects list on the right panel in Tonelib editor, select the Filter effects, scroll down the effects, you should see "Low EQ" effect (greyed out if not installed) - click on the green arrows (or on the three dots) and choose Install.

Look in the list to the right in tonelib. You can install/uninstall effects. Not all of them will fit but the low eq should be in there. I believe it's in filters if I remember correctly.

Hello, first post here. Thanks for the preset! It worked and sounds great!! Very woody indeed!

No problem. It still needs good technique to pull off the upright sound and I suspect that using flatwound strings help quite a bit as well. I've always wanted a real upright (not an EUB) but never had the space or willingness to put up the money for something that I just wouldn't get to use that much in the real world. I do, however use this patch about 1/3 of the time I play at home.

Try this one, regular PJ bass and it sounds huge with clean high depending on your tone nob
