How well does the FCB 1010 works with the Tonelib GFX?

Unfortunately, I no longer own an FCB 1010. At some point, Tonelib released an update for the GFX (not sure which was it) that made my setup with FCB 1010 unusable. I couldn't make it to work again with CC's. Since controlling the GFX was the main reason I bought the FCB 1010, I decided to sell it.

Sadly, I must say that - based on my experience - product support is non-existent. I tried reaching out to Tonelib by email twice but never got a reply. I don't even see them replying to the support requests on the forum.

I wanted to use, like, and even recommend this app to my students and online followers - even used it to record a few lessons on a course I did about guitar effects usage. It's a good-sounding app with nice possibilities, plus it's very affordable. But due to the lack of support, right now I can't recommend it.

Sorry I never got to do that video I promised.

Usually ToneLib (at least in my very limited experience) have been very good at getting back to me and resolving any issues or at least explaining why or when something cannot or will be looked at, etc. et al. Sounds like a pretty neat 'lil project AC. You should try to contact them again for sure. This community seems a pretty chill and inviting one and I dig the amount of Linux users here too. It would obviously be in the best interest of everybody - especially ToneLib - to foster and encourage such projects, ideas and activities; especially re. online/community/zoom-enable sharing of decent quality plug-in/effect presets and files... Peace-out, Mez

My experience is exactly opposite. I've contacted them several times and haven't heard anything back. Yes, for whatever reason, GFX will only execute PC messages if they're sent by midi continuous controllers, which is kind of a weird mystery since they should be 2 completely different kind of messages. I have a Roland FC200 which has a PC mode and a CC mode, GFX will only do PC's when the pedal is in CC mode. Sucks cuz it means your midi pedal isn't really dual purpose, you wind up losing pedals to actually use as cc's. Another real bummer about the midi is you can only assign 8 things to be controlled with midi cc messages like effects on/off etc. Like...why?? Why should there be a limit at all? Even guitarix doesn't have this limit

    Hi guys,

I solved the problem with connecting MIDI foot switch to ToneLib GFX. For this I used free program MidiKey2Key (https://midikey2key.de/). MidiKey2Key converts MIDI commands to keyboard shortcut keys. Shortcut keys work better in ToneLib GFX than MIDI.
It is easy to figure out how to use MidiKey2Key - watch the tutorial video on their website.

Attention: Shortcut keys like Ctrl+O, Ctrl+D for controlling Loop station and Rhythm player did not work for me on ToneLib GFX. Therefore I reconfigured ToneLib GFX to exclude the Ctrl key from shortcut keys. That is, I use O and D instead of Ctrl+O, Ctrl+D. It works.

I have it all working with a Harley Benton MP-500 MIDI controller (https://harleybenton.com/product/mp-500-interface-foot-control/)

Have a nice day and good music
