Hi guys, Is it possible to emulate the ampeg classic preamp pedal with the ultra low and ultra high options? I need to use it on my zoom b1 four with volume, bass, mid and high flat and the ultra high on. Thank you so much in advance. Fab
Never used the Ampeg Classic preamp but try the SVT amp model. It's based on an Ampeg SVT and does a pretty good job at the Ampeg sound.
I saw your post and I was unable to replicate the sound of the classic pedal just using the Ampeg patch on Zoom. I got closer by doubling up the Ampeg effect and selecting BOTH on the Ultra setting for both effects, but that made the lows boomy and finger noise became an issue with the boosted highs. I fixed most of that by cutting back the bass/treble a little and setting the MID-F frequencies a little further apart between the two effects. Adding reverb thickened it up a bit more. I love this tone and it's become my default for daily practice - it's classic and thick and punchy like an old P bass, though may not be the best for current rock/pop/metal. =============================================================== Device: Zoom B1Xfour (Firmware ver. 2.00) Device cell: 49 Patch name: Dbl Ampeg Patch description: Ampeg Classic Preamp pedal Effects: { Effect: "160 Comp" (Dynamics), active - "yes" "Threshold" = -22 "Ratio" = 4.0 "Knee" = SOFT "Volume" = 75 Effect: "AMPG SVT" (Amp simulator), active - "yes" "Bass" = -1.0 "MID-F" = 220Hz "Middle" = 0.0 "Treble" = -1.0 "Gain" = 33 "Ultra" = BOTH "Volume" = 60 Effect: "AMPG SVT" (Amp simulator), active - "yes" "Bass" = -1.0 "MID-F" = 500Hz "Middle" = 0.0 "Treble" = -1.0 "Gain" = 33 "Ultra" = BOTH "Volume" = 60 Effect: "Plate" (Reverb), active - "yes" "PreD" = 15 "Decay" = 30 "Mix" = 18 "Tail" = On }; // Generated by ToneLib Zoom 4.3.1 (www.ToneLib.net) ===============================================================
