How to use the B1Four to make the Bass more audible/prominent during solo?

My wife has an electric bass that she uses with the B1Four. For one song she plays a wicked bass solo but it's in the lower range and hard to hear. Adding chorus helped a little bit, as did adjusting the EQ to emphasize the mid-range. Are there any other effects/adjustments/etc we could use to make the bass more prominent?

    Thanks!

(I play keyboards and when I want to fix this on my keyboard I layer the same bass sound an octave higher - but I don't think that's the answer here).

Depending on which type of bass she uses, but in general, to be more audible in a mix, use an EQ with a boost in the 1khz and 4.5khz.
And possibly give a subtle rough edge to the sound by using the darkglass b3k.

Mid boost around 1k will probably do it. If you're setting your tone in your practice room, things sound great when the tone is scooped but you'll get lost in the mix. Mids are where your presence is and you'll cut through better if you boost it.
