    Malcolm's 2 Cabs
    Preset name: Malcolm 2 cabs

    Comments:
Here's a novel patch/rig/setup designed for Gretch guitars with low output Filtertrons.

As it is, represents his 76-78 period, turn on the EQ and Compressor for Highway to Hell's more polished rendition.

The cabinets are panned hard left/hard right, which is ideal for filling out for a solo, the Right cab however is best orientated center, and the Left cab far left. Pan to taste/requirement.

    Effects chain:

For the Highway, BIB and FTATR period,

The tube screamer is just there to compensate in case your right hand isn't strong enough..

Some important notes on Malcolm's sound and playing:

    Playing style:
It is CRITICAL to understand Malcolms approach to guitar in AC/DC to deliver an approximation of his sound.
Malcolm was all about the right hand. He alternates between extreme dynamics of playing, from letting the weight of the pick itself fall across the strings (EG. intro to Hail Caesar ) to Lightning fast aggression (If You Want Blood), raking the the pick so fast across the strings they all sound like a single struck piano chord.

    Amplification strategy:
Malcolm used practically zero preamp gain, preferring to drive the power amp section of his Super Bass by the intensity of his right hand. If you want more crunch/drive, PLAY THE GUITAR HARDER AND TIGHTER. It's quite physically intensive, and to nail it you'll wear down your picks rapidly...

Have fun! (And thanks to the team at Tonelib!
