   Hi,
   For firmware upgrade a usb cable is used between the G1on and the notebook, right?
   So would it be possible to use a 5v cell phone charger instead of the 9v power supply or the 4 1.5v batteries each?

   Yes. I did it several times. Also you can make use of a USB power bank+ mini USB cable instead of batteries.
